The Fight for Our Health coalition will be hosting a lobby day in Sacramento on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026 (next week). This lobby day will enable the coalition, which includes organizations representing the I/DD community, to signal to lawmakers and advocacy groups our shift from a federal campaign to one that is state-based.
The federal cuts to Medicaid included in HR. 1 will begin implementation this year (2026). Due to federal cuts, including those for health care in H.R. 1, the state is facing a projected $18 billion hole that is only expected to grow.
