SUMMARY:Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) Informational Trainings – San Diego Gas and Electric (SDGE)
DESCRIPTION:The Investor Owned Utilities (IOUs) have reached out to the Department of Developmental Services with an offer to provide training to all regional centers and service providers/vendors. Southern California Edison (SCE), Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), and San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E) will provide information about Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS).\nTo reduce the threat of wildfires, these utilities may temporarily shut off power to a neighborhood; the power shut off events are called PSPS. For these sessions, IOUs will discuss how Californians can better prepare for PSPS, including customer alerts, emergency preparedness and customer care programs and resources that can minimize impacts due to PSPS events. Please plan to attend one of the three sessions.\nThe training sessions will be an hour long and, to provide flexibility and encourage participation, the sessions will be recorded.
