However, many people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) have a harder time accessing their communities and services they need to stay healthy as they age. Programs meant to help older adults aren’t always designed for people with IDD, and IDD services aren’t always fully prepared for the unique needs of the aging individuals they serve.
